What is psychotherapy?

Translated literally, psychotherapy means "treatment of the soul" or treatment of psychological problems. Psychological methods - such as psychotherapeutic talks, relaxation techniques or cognitive methods - are used to identify and treat disorders in thinking, acting and experiencing.
Psychotherapy is a targeted treatment of a mental illness. Treatment is intended to address a specific problem and is therefore limited in time.

Cost covering

In order for the costs to be covered by basic insurance, you need a prescription for psychotherapy from your family doctor or another doctor.
If you do not receive a prescription or do not want to apply for it, there is the possibility that your supplementary insurance will reimburse part of the costs.
Since the cost coverage varies depending on the health insurance company, it is best to contact your insurance company before the first treatment.
A session amounts to CHF 154.80 per hour.
